Open Kitchen Layout

From the light oak flooring to the crisp white walls punctuated with navy accents, to the functional, modern layout, it’s easy to feel at home in The Trend show home by Lexis Homes.

Located in Rosewood, the 315 Hamm Way show home is part of the Saskatoon and Region Home Builders Association. The Trend floor plan is a bit of a throwback for Lexis Homes.

“We thought we’d bring it back because it was really popular for us,” says Lexis president Cam Skoropat. “We always tweak our plans, so even though this was our show home a few years ago, we made changes based on what people told us throughout the years.”

The result is a fresh, open living space that is as functional as it is beautiful.

Beam details on the ceiling give both the living room and the kitchen unique definition. While the floor plan is open, both spaces have their distinct flavours. The nine-foot ceilings make it light and bright.

The natural gas fireplace with tile surround creates a cozy room for relaxing or visiting with family. Oversized windows provide tons of natural light.

The extra-large island makes for a great workspace for the cook, while cabinetry adds functionality with things like a built-in microwave.

A built-in wine bar area in the dining room is a convenient spot for creating your special cocktails, but with a navy hue it also adds visual interest to the space.

To provide a stunning focal point throughout, Lexis opted for Kohler fixtures in black matte.

Generously portioned at 2,168 square feet, the home offers ample room for a growing family. There are three bedrooms upstairs, plus a bonus room that can be easily converted into a fourth bedroom or large office space.

In a classic twist, the homeowner’s suite boasts a bold tray ceiling featuring the same hardwood as the main level.

The garage has enough room for three cars and there’s even a built-in workbench, making it easy to start your next project. It’s got a green and white theme to please the Rider fan in your family.

Lexis is a Holmes Approved Homes builder, which is an intense process for each construction project. Every home goes through three separate inspections while it’s being built. This ensures the home meets high standards for energy efficiency.

“You hear Mike Holmes talk about what’s behind the walls being important. (The inspectors) are not looking at the paint or the things that most people notice right away. They’re looking at the things you’ll notice later if it’s done wrong,” Skoropat says.

The 315 Hamm Way Lexis Homes show home is open for viewing, along with the other 31 Parade of Homes show homes, Monday through Thursday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Parade of Homes continues through Sept. 15.
